Bodegas Luzón
Historic Jumilla winemaking shaped by Monastrell, Mediterranean character and more than 180 years of heritage.
Bodegas Luzón is one of Jumilla’s historic wine producers, with origins dating back to 1841. The winery is closely connected to the Monastrell grape and produces wines that reflect the warmth, dry landscape and distinctive personality of the Jumilla region.
The winery
The story began when Don José de Molina returned to his native Jumilla after serving in the Philippines. He named his estate Finca Luzón in honour of the island of Luzon, where he had spent an important part of his life.
For much of its early history, the estate passed through the female line of the family and was managed by successive generations of women. The property was sold in 1980, after which winemaking activity was renewed and the winery developed into one of Jumilla’s notable producers and exporters.
Style and character
Bodegas Luzón wines are expressive, fruit-forward and unmistakably Mediterranean. Monastrell is at the heart of the range, producing wines with ripe dark fruit, spice, structure and warmth, alongside fresher styles, organic wines and carefully matured premium expressions.
